About Steve Spangler… Steve Spangler a bestselling author, STEM educator and Emmy award-winning television personality. Spangler served as Ellen DeGeneres' science guy for 15 seasons (2007-2022), and he's the host of his own syndicated television series called DIY Sci. This channel was created at the request of YouTube / Google as part of their Original Content Creators program (2010-2012). The Spangler Effect was part of 100 channels selected to create longer form content (at a time when the average video on YouTube was under four minutes). The Spangler Effect was funded for two seasons, which included 54 original episodes and an additional 25 "extras" and special projects. In 2016, the Spangler Effect was picked up by Rotfeld Productions to create Steve Spangler's own nationally syndicated television series called DIY Sci (seen on Fox, CW and streaming on Amazon and Hulu).
