James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix was born Johnny Allen Hendrix on November 27th, 1942 in Seattle Washington, U.S. He won Artist of the Year in 1968 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. Jimi Hendrix passed away in Kensington, London, England at age 27 on September 18, 1970.
