My Story
How to sum one's essential self up in words? Eh, pretty much impossible. Suffice it to say that I am from Texas, in college right now, and my life has been far from easy.
I grew up very sick when I was little, with asthma and other conditions that prompted my doctors to put me on steroids. By the time I was better growing up, my mother was disabled, sisters had moved out, and father was working 60+ hours a week to support us.
Then my mom was diagnosed with Breast cancer. Long story short, I was her caretaker throughout high school (she was diagnosed twice - the second time two years after the first).
After I moved to Erie for college, my mom was diagnosed with gallbladder disease, then kidney cancer.
Why is all this stuff important? My family means a lot to me. My mom and I have always been close (despite our ideological differences). But really, my life has been by no measure a cakewalk, and it still isn't. I have dealt with death, poverty, illness, disease, and a lot of other s
