Robert Sylvester Kelly was born January 8, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois, U.S. He is often referred to as King of R&B, Kelly began performing during the late 1980s and debuted in 1992 with the group Public Announcement. He went solo a year later has since released 12 solo studio albums, and sold over 100 million records worldwide.
